Busting Excuses: Why you Deserve a Boudoir Experience

Busting Excuses

We tend to make excuses and plenty of them when we’re nervous or wanting to do things for ourselves. Excuses to not love ourselves. Excuses to not take care of ourselves. We get so caught up with life, work, our kids, etc and are extremely busy. Or maybe we tell ourselves that “I  need to lose 10lbs” or “When I have the extra money” before we can book a boudoir session. I wanted to write this to show you that I totally understand. I’m a wife, bonus mom and business owner and life can be crazy haha. But no matter the excuse, you deserve this. You are worthy of the self care and self love. Let me show you how incredible you are. Let’s talk about busting excuses.

“I don’t have enough time for myself.”

It’s so important to remember that you can’t pour from an empty cup. If you aren’t taking care of yourself mentally, then you’re not going to be able to take care of anyone else. Sometimes I’m truly the worst at making sure I give myself enough mental health breaks, and that’s why I think it’s so important to share this with you all. I make the same excuses as above and sometimes I need someone to just look me in the eyes and say, “Slow down. Give yourself a break. Just breathe for a minute.”

During a boudoir session, you’re able to breathe and love yourself for a few hours. You’re able to get in some much needed me time. Think of all the energy you’ll save on a daily basis when you stop comparing yourself to others, or stop worrying about what other people think of how you look. You get to see where your beauty really comes from and this will lift a huge mental weight off your shoulders.

You need to take time for yourself! And why not spend it having the most incredible time and getting all glammed up for once?

“I’m not where I want to be weight wise/ I don’t fit the media’s idea of a good enough size.”

Did you know that the body type portrayed in advertising as the ideal is possessed naturally by only 5% of American females? ONLY FIVE PERCENT!

I’ll say this over and over again (sorry, not sorry haha), but why do you have to be a certain size to love yourself? Why do you have to fit a strangers messed up idea of a perfect body to love your own body? Why are you comparing your size to everyone else when no two women are the same?!

I think it’s amazing to have goals for yourself and to want to get healthy, but that doesn’t mean you have to hate your body to do those things. You should love yourself every step of the way. Be proud of where you are so that you can be proud of where you’re going. Have a boudoir session to celebrate where you are now, and then have one when you lose that 10 lbs to celebrate how far you’ve come!

“I never feel sexy or sensual anymore, so a boudoir session must not be for me.”

WRONG.

This excuse is actually the exact reason you SHOULD do a boudoir photo session.

Often times we lose touch with our femininity or sexuality when life gets crazy because of health/kids/work. It happens a lot and it’s absolutely normal, and totally okay. A great way to find this side of ourselves again is to have a boudoir session done and put that spark back in us. I can help show you that you have that inside of you somewhere. And it might just ignite something between you and your partner as well haha!

Another thing to remember is that you don’t have to wear super sexy clothing or lingerie. If you feel like this doesn’t show your personality, then there are so many other outfit ideas. And if you need outfit ideas, I’m here to help! I’ll gladly talk to you about different ideas and even send you my Amazon shopping list.

“A boudoir session is an investment and I don’t have all the money right now.”

Yes, a boudoir session IS an investment. It’s also an investment in yourself. You are investing in your well-being and confidence as well! I do offer payment plans to help make this more affordable for you. In order to book your session, there’s a booking retainer and after that we can set up a customized payment plan for your chosen collection that works for you. If you have any questions about my payment plans, send me an email while setting up your session.
